slackware 13.37 failed to install Audacity 2.0.0

I'm trying to install Audacity 2.0.0 which I got
from SlackBuilds.org.
I've had to install wxGTK and wxX11 2.8.7 because
Audacity 2.0.0 didn't like wxX11 2.8.0. But now
Audacity 2.0.0 has another problem. I'm not sure
what this means or what to do about it.
Can anyone interpret this for me ?

It seems to want jack installed.

There's a Slackbuild here. Here's the jack site.

slackware 13.37 failed to install Audacity 2.0.0

I have Jack installed. A long time ago.
Anyway, I dug around on the internet looking for
systemdeps.h and found it is part of the
libjack-jackd2-dev package. I found one for
Debian and installed it on Debian, and amongst
the files installed was systemdeps.h.
So now I need to find a libjack-jackd2-dev
for Slackware. Maybe I'll find it today.

Be aware that Slackware doesn't have separate "-dev" packages.

my file /usr/include/jack/types.h doesn't look for jack/systemdeps.h so I think you got something wrong with your jack-audio-connection-kit package, try reinstalling the one for 13.37 from slackbuilds.org.

Then you need to install ORBit2, GConf and after wxGTK or wxPython (you don't need wxX11), because this way they will build their media library (needed for audacity), as written in their READMEs.

Then you can build audacity.

I have Audacity 2.0.1 running on both Slackware 13.37 and 14.0 clients. Built them fine without jack.

slackware 13.37 failed to install Audacity 2.0.0

I removed the original jack audio connection kit
and installed the one from slackbuild.org for
Slackware 13.37 and then installed audacity 2.0.0
also from slackbuild.org and everything seems fine.
I was really confused by some of those error messages
I had been getting from the failed installs.
Thanks for setting me on the right direction.
I think this thread is solved.
