slackware 13.1 low volume when on full blast

I read on another thread that i can 'run' this 'script' somehow to add a preamp to kmix to raise the volume.

1. Is it correct?
2. How do i use it?

I did look at the thread, but didn't see page 2. Thank you for pointing it out. I will try their suggestions this evening.

thread higher if you so desire in your LQ UserCP, over there -->

My T61 has very, very low volume in Slackware ... and low in Win7.
Now there is an ~/.asoundrc and we'll see how it works.

by running the rexima mixer app i was able to fix the volume, thanks.
