I thought Patrick doesn't accept donations? At least he didn't in the last few years, maybe something changed. He always sais to support him (and thus the project) go buy something from the slackware store.

I usually wait some months after a release before I buy the CD set. I am always worried that maybe Patrick will finally lose it and put out a crappy distro. Hasn't ever happened so far!

lol, I don't think that's going to happen. I think as long as Pat V. is alive and well and maintaining Slackware, that cannot happen, especially in comparison to most other distros.

Been buying the official Slackware CDs since Slackware 4. Slackware 12.1 is the first time I bought DVD instead of CDs.

Yes, the best way to support Slackware is buying its CD/DVD.

Wow, this thread is a blast from the past!

I am not currently in a position to be using or needing Slackware 12.*, the old laptop running 11 is all I need, but I do make a point to download and serve up the torrent file of any new Slackware release as a quiet thank you to Slackware for past and future use.

If (and when) I upgrade the laptop it will be through a purchased DVD. Hopefully dear Theresa at the Slackware store will have configured her machine to stop automatically dumping any order from Thailand into the spam bin by then! lol

You can make a small donation to the site if you wish:

Every little bit will help Patrick:-)
