Slackware 12 integration into Windows Active Directory

I've been implementing procedures on the following link http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...9/#post3766986 on how to integrate Slackware 12 into Active Directory.

I was able to download and install all packages except Berkley DB
http://www.bayour.com/kerberos/sleepycat_3.0.55.tar.gz, I'm getting "Object not found!"

Though the procedures works fine, and I was able to join the Slackware systems into the domain as below:

root@SLACKWARE_64:~# net ads join -k -U svc_unixad
Enter svc_unixad's password:
Using short domain name -- VCTZ
Joined 'SLACKWARE_64' to realm 'vodacomtz.corp'
root@SLACKWARE_64:~#

But, Testing to retrieve an AD user does not work as below:

root@SLACKWARE_64:~# getent passwd svc_unixad
root@SLACKWARE_64:~# id svc_unixad
id: svc_unixad: No such user

Can anyone please give me an assist, as I feel stuck.

Kind Regards,

Onesmo

Slackware 12.x reached end of life two years ago.

If would be wise to update to a more recent version.

You might want to take a look at this thread. Not for the faint of heart, be warned.

The question in itself is a testament to Slackware durability :hattip:
