Slackware 12 adaptec aic94xx

Hello all!!!

I want install slackware 12 on supermicro superserver 6015b-3b.
but RAID controller aic94xx don't work normally. when boot kernel write

Loading Adaptec I2O RAID: Version 2.4 Build 5go
Detecting Adaptec I2O RAID controllers...
Adaptec aacraid driver (1.1-5[2423]-mh3)
aic94xx: Adaptec aic94xx SAS/SATA driver version 1.0.3 loaded
ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:09:02.0[A] -> GSI 18 (level, low) -> IRQ 17
aic94xx: found Adaptec AIC-9410W SAS/SATA Host Adapter, device 0000:09:02.0
scsi2 : aic94xx
aic94xx: Failed to load sequencer firmware file aic94xx-seq.fw, error -2
aic94xx: couldn't init seqs for 0000:09:02.0
aic94xx: couldn't init the chip
ACPI: PCI interrupt for device 0000:09:02.0 disabled
aic94xx: probe of 0000:09:02.0 failed with error -2
scsi: <fdomain> Detection failed (no card)

I make initrd.img and copy in /lib/firmware file aic94xx-seq.fw but don't work.

I try install on server opensuse 10.3. Opensuse install on raid 1 and work.

i understand so as load firmware i must make initrd.img with udev, but don't know how it make.

Please help, people.

Hi,

Which kernel are you using?

For the generic 2.6.21.5-smp, huge-2.6.21.5 kernels;

Code:
~#cat /boot/config |grep -i aic94
CONFIG_SCSI_AIC94XX=y
# CONFIG_AIC94XX_DEBUG is not set
You should be able to use the drive.
To know how to use the initrd, read the '/boot/README.initrd'.

Kernel compile with aic94xx but not load firmware. firmware using another license.
I create initrd and copy in rc.udev and grep and sed. but initrd when loading write connot find grep. cannot find sed
for using udev the kernel must compile with tmpfs.

I change init in initrd and write full path to grep and sed, but error don't hide.

I change init in initrd, write start /sbin/udevd --daemon, but init don't find /sbin/udevd.

I don't understand why this is don't work.

Sorry for my bad english.

Not the file, but the names of modules loaded in initrd. Linuxquestions doesn't allow attachments.

I'am don't try load modules in initrd, while udev don't load in initrd.

I create initrd tree and use chroot /initrd-tree

dev lib proc cd sys
etc load_kernel_modules rootdev usr
init luksdev rootfs var

/$cd bin
:/bin$ ls
[ crontab fgrep last od setkeycodes traceroute

cp fdflush killall nohup seq touch
cpio fdformat killall5 nslookup setarch tr

:/bin$ grep
/bin/sh: grep: not found

:/bin$ /bin/grep
/bin/sh: /bin/grep: not found
