Slackware 12.2, FS Amilo A1650 & Memory issues

Hi all,

I just had a fresh install of slack 12.2 on my laptop.
I installed GSB gnome 2.22.2 and the 8.12 ATI driver for my graphics card (ati xpress 200). I also tried version 8.10.

I am running kernel 2.6.22.9 with ubuntu patches.

My laptop was running perfectly with slack 12.0 and I said "what the heck, lets try 12.2".

After everything was done, Gnome freezes every 5-10 minutes, my memory and swap get full instantly for about 10 secs and then they empty again...(~30% for the physical & ~45% for the swap).

My physical memory is 512mb and so is the swap.

Could you please help me?

I just found out that there is a process called trackerd that is using all my memory.
Do you know what it is and how to get rid of it (if possible)?
