Slackware 12.2 and Intel 4965 iwlagn driver

I've been searching for an answer to my issue. I've found other distributions with the same problem but nothing related to Slackware.

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T61 with the Intel 4965 wireless adapter.

What I'm experiencing are kernel panic's at random intervals while connected through my wireless network. I don't have a dump of the error as the machine gets completely locked up and if I'm in X it doesn't show anything at all...just flashing LED's.

I don't get kernel panics at any other time except when I'm connected to wireless.

My wireless is 802.11N and from searching around it seems that *may* be the cause of the panic but others with the same adapter and problem also get kernel panic's on G networks. I haven't tested this myself yet.

I'm looking for a place to start troubleshooting, really, and can't imagine I'm the only one with this issue.

From what I've found it's not Slackware specific.

There are entries for iwlagn driver in Changelog for kernel versions 2.6.27.10 and 2.6.27.11.

I am not able to tell if it is related to your problem but I would try to install 2.6.27.11 instead of 2.6.27.7.

You will find it here. As a reminder, start configuration with the config file for the kernel you are now using and "make oldconfig" to only configure what has changed between the two versions.
