Oh sorry, I was a bit unclear there. When I have downloaded a new release, I rearly upgrade my existing slackware to the newer version, but I do a clean install. That was what I implyed. Security upgrades are of course importent

Ah.....sorry, my mistake:-) I misunderstood your post. I do the same as you, I do a clean install whenever Pat releases a new version of Slack.

Not too long now...slackBuilds.org just recently shut down submissions for 12.0 since 12.1 is coming soon.
