Slackware 12.1-rc1 in current

OK, we're going to call this Slackware 12.1-rc1, though there is still some
more minor work to do. Please help test! And if we're missing anything major,

Yes, I used to think it was very nice that some os/distros had a scheduled release date. Now I think the Id software/John Carmack aproach of "when it's done" is better.
