Slackware 11 Won't Boot

I installed Slack 11 with the huge26.s kernel. The first time I boot after installation everything works normally, however, after rebooting again, i get the message:
Quote:

No filesystem could mount root, tried: ext2
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(8,2)
I didn't change anything that should cause this as far as I know. When I boot from the Slackware cd into my installation everything works fine. I've tried reinstalling and that doesn't work, any help is appreciated.

read the README.initrd file on CD2 in the /extra/linux-2.6.17.13 directory & set up the initrd thing. You will need to remember which filesystem you chose during install, either ext3 or reiserfs* (*=default). in order to get into the system to do this you may need to use the 1st CD as a bootdisk (i use bare.i rather than sata.i).

Are you using grub or lilo as your boot loader? Where is 'root' pointing to?

That worked, thanks a lot.
