LinuxQuestions.org - Slackware 10 can't find my VGA card (long)

Hi all,
Slackware can't find my GeForce 4 440 8x AGP card. I triple boot (between Windows 2000 and Solaris 9) and I am pretty sure I installed their drivers in Windows 2000. (SO I can convice myself that I was not cheated, with some spurious card).

From Slackware Linux, when I tried to use the nv module in Xorg.conf, I can't get X windows. I can't even do Ctrl-Del-BkSpace. So I rebooted and tried the SiS driver. And X works. I get 170 fps in GLXGears.

I use 7S748 Gigabyte mother board.

Q: I wonder if I have (bought and) installed the GeForce 4 440 8X at all, or if somthing I am totally clueless about is going on. Notice SiS 330 (Xabre) VGA card. (There is no built-in VGA port on my motherboard.
