Slackware 10.2 and GnuCash
I was reading earlier that it doesn't compile well in Slackware 10.2, that there are a lot of packages to add to get it to compile correctly and it takes over an hour. For me, I need GnuCash to work or I can't use Slackware, simply put.
If anyone has compiled the newest GnuCash (1.8.11) in Slackware 10.2 and remembers how to do it (what packages to add, the order to compile them, etc.) I would totally appreciate it. Myself, I believe I have added g-wrap correctly, which was the first hiccup in compiling GnuCash. I am currently stuck on slib, but I'm sure there will be more after that. |
Doesn't the 10.1 package work?
http://www.linuxpackages.net/pkg_details.php?id=5588 Btw, if it doesn't run on Slackware it doesn't run on anything. |
I unpacked that .tgz file in my home directory and it created a usr/ directory with all sorts of subdirectories and precompiled binaries in a new $HOME/usr/bin directory. I changed to the $HOME/usr/bin directory where the gnucash executable was and ran:
./gnucash $HOME/finances/parmenter & The program is running fine (I think), but nothing shows up on the screen. I have a new Slackware 10.2 install. Is there anything else I'll need to install? |
Doesn't GnuCash need a lot of Gnome libraries, now dropped from 10.2?
|
It's a package
You should install it (as root) thusly at the shell prompt:
# installpkg <inset filename here> Bear in mind that it may overwrite your work. |
