Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

Hi everybody.... a long time without posting but now Im with a litle problem...
Im trying to install berryl (or compiz) but first I must upgrade my xorg 6.8 to xorg 7.x to be able to use these programs.
Okay, so I tried (After some help in #slackware) the pinkibuild.sh script that was made to automate the download of those 200 xorg modular pakages (as it seens its no more possible to find the monolithy pack). After sometime I get some errors. And in the and no slackware package or xorg 7 was compiled and installed.
So My question is if there are any other way to upgrade xorg... I saw that even slackware 11 dont come with xorg 7 its still on 6.9... so any easy way to make my xorg be the R7 series ?
If I upgrade my slackware to version 11 will be possible to ran pinkibuild.sh without errors (maybe it was done thinking in the slack11 libraries and stuff so this is why I get the errors...)??
Well... any ideias of how to best compile Xorg 7 will be very apreciated... thanks in advance..
Are you asking what the use for me, here, or general use ?
And why the question ?
And just to update.... Im not getting any error message or this kind of thing, I was just asking if there are any easier way to update xorg in slackware 10.1 ... but no need to worry anymore, its already update and running beryl now. =)
