Slackware 10.0 Ogre 3d 1.4 build problem

Hello!
I` m trying to build Ogre 1.4 on Slackware 10.0. When it starts to compile the samples I `ve got millions of errors which refers to the standard template library, something like that
libOgreMain.so undefined reference to std::char_traits<unsigned short>::assign(unsigned short &, unsigned short const &)
The library was built with:
./bootstrap
./configure CC=g++ CXX=g++ --disable-cg
make
Usually I got these errors , when I try to build a c++ project with gcc. I must compile with g++.
I seen on the forum that there were similar problems with version 1.2. I have a stock gcc 3.3.4. If somebody managed to compile ogre on other linux systems I would like to see the output of gcc -v. Mine is
./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-shared --enable-threads=posix --enable-__cxa-atexit --disable-checking --with-gnu-ld --verbose --target=i486-slackware-linux --host=i486-slackware-linux
gcc version 3.3.4
Thank you.
