slackpkg: trouble with french ovh.net mirror

Hi,

It's been a few weeks since Slackware's french mirror site mirror.ovh.net/mirrors/ftp.slackware.com keeps spewing out checksum errors with slackpkg. It's not any misconfiguration on my behalf, since it's sufficient to replace the OVH mirror by another one just below, for example (ftp://fu-berlin.de/unix/linux/slackware ==> deutsche Qualität, heh) and everything works perfectly. On a side note, OVH has a bad reputation for non-existent QoS here in France.

I suggest the slackpkg maintainer contacts OVH (and sees if he can be lucky to get any response from them).

Cheers,

Niki

I'm not sure that slackpk be actively maintained at the moment, possibly PiterPunk is busy elsewhere. I can contact OVH if you give me enough details about what's going wrong. Or maybe you can do that yourself as you speak (or at least write) French better than I do (shame on me :-)

OVH has a sad history of being unresponsive to any form of communication. My suggestion would be to just delete the corresponding entry in /etc/slackpkg/mirrors and ignore them in the future.

ovh et lip6 has changed their domain name

OVH has changed URLs, as we can see in http://mirrors.slackware.com/mirrorlist/ :
- ftp://slackware.mirrors.ovh.net/ftp.slackware.com/
- rsync://slackware.mirrors.ovh.net/ftp.slackware.com/

nephtys.lip6.fr become ftp.lip6.fr
