Slack9 + pcmcia-cs + Dell Inspiron8100 = crash

Hello all, I have a little problem with Slackware 9 on my laptop (Dell Inspiron 8100). When I install the package "pcmcia-cs", the computer hangs at boot, here is the screen output:

cardmgr[53]: watching 2 sockets
cs: IO port probe 0x0c00-0x0cff: clean
cs: IO port probe 0x0800-0x08ff:

and then nothing...i have to hard-reset the computer. There isn't any card in the PCMCIA slots.

Anyone has an idea?

Having the same problem on my inspiron 8000 / and also the bootable live CD won't work because of the same error message. Hope someone can shine alittle light on how to fix this problem. Actually bought the CD to support slackware and the bootable live CD and can't seem to use any of it. =T Using slack 8 for now.
