Slack VPS - slackpkg - unathoritative...

I just noticed lines like the following when doing a

Code:

# slackpkg install slackware
On a VPS with a (very) minimal Slackware template.

Code:

Length: 198 (unauthoritative)
I did my

Code:

# slackpkg update ; slackpkg update gpg
first, so I was kinda wondering why I was getting that from packages being installed from the "carrol" mirror.

Thanks,

The word "unauthoritative" is a status message from the "wget" download tool when it downloads a file from the mirror. It has nothing to do with whether the download was successful or not - it only says that wget can not be certain that the advertized length (or better: the size) of the downloaded file is actually correct.

So there is nothing to worry about.
