Slack problem

first of all I've recently installed Slack=> me happy
but still there are a few problems:
~ I can't connect to Internet (using ppp-go I hear in the headset only the busy "tone")
Aren't there any other dialer (I use Gnome or at least I'm trying).

~ Nautilus isn't working (it says it requires a certain libcdda_cparnioa.so module that I cannot find on any of the CDs)

~ I can't boot on the win hdd (it is on the hdc disk)

Many thanks

What type of modem do you have? You need to set hdc as default in your lilo.conf.

that library seems at first sight to be part of the cdparanoia package ... try finding it on your cd's or use swaret ... (www.swaret.org)

If you did a full install then try kppp.

Does anyone know the configuration files for ppp-on, ppp-off ?
When I try to connect to the internet as a regular user the answer is :
Quote:

Conection script failed
Any ideas?

Thank you for the previous hints

i don't use ppp, so i don't know anything about this but all your configuration files (should be) in /etc and there's a directory /etc/ppp (at least, on my slackware 9.1 system there is). i looked at the file in there (/etc/ppp/options) and it has a lot of explanation right inside the file in comments so it should be really easy to figure out (most slackware configuration files are very well documented inside the file. it makes the files longer, but it's helpful for newbies and organized sysadmins alike).
