Slack boot stops at /sbin/udevtrigger --retry-failed

Hi,
Slack was behaving fine till yesterday (its only 5days old anyway ;) ) but today all-of-a-sudden it stops at
Code:

Triggering udev events: /sbin/udevtrigger --retry-failed
If I do Ctrl+Alt+Del it gives the following messages and drops me to shell instead of rebooting.
Code:

INIT: Switching to runlevel:6
INIT: Sending processes the TERM signal
Running shutdown script /etc/rc.d/rc.6
Saving system time to the hardware clock (UTC).
sshd: no process killed.
Unmounting remote filesystems.
sh: no job control in this shell
sh-3.1#

What I need to try?

just guessing, maybe you upgraded udev and you haven't renamed /etc/rc.d/rc.udev.new to /etc/rc.d/rc.udev?

Well, there is nothing wrong in checking it out but I don't think that's an issue. I got hold of 12.1 DVD and am trying to get enough slack so as to be comfortable when Slackare-13 is released. I don't know enough to install/update any packages.

As for as I remember all I did was to read Slackbook and... well... I think I tried to enable wireless... is that any little help to you? What files I should look for any potential wrong edits.

so maybe this is your problem, wrong config: wireless config should be in /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf (for wpa you should edit also /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf).
you shouldn't need to edit /etc/rc.d/rc.wireless.conf, alien bob has written a detailed guide here.

P.S. lotta of useful stuff on that wiki :)
