Slack 9.1, kernel 2.6.3-r3, Epson Scanner and libusb no worky for Joe user.

Aight, I was able to get sane to see this thing by adding the line:

usb libusb:002:002

to /etc/sane.d/epson.dll

Now, I can only get xsane to fire up as root. Before, when the scanner appeared as good old /dev/usb/scanner0, it was just a matter of chmodding that dev point 666, but now with kernel 2.6.3 and scanner.o gone the way of the dodo, what do I chmod to get this kid to work for joe user?

Word,

Finegan

Ask a searchable question... find the answer yourself. Chmod proc and it goes back on reboot, make an entry in fstab and its there for good...

Code:
none /proc/bus/usb usbfs defaults,devmode=0666 0 0
Cheers,
