slack 9.1 install, kernel panic no init found

I just installed slack 9.1 and upon booting up I encounter this error:

kernel panic: no init found. try passing init=option to the kernel.

I can boot from my boot floppy though.

fixed it:
duh..... lilo had root= my boot partition instead of root.
