Slack 9.1 and Speedtouch DSL modem support

Can anyone tell me whether 9.1 now officially supports the Alcatel Speedtouch DSL modem? I managed to get it working okay under 9.0, but did a full re-install and i'm wondering whether i need to go through the same process as before (from sources found on this forum),or if there's an easier way now.

Any help on getting this thing working would be much appreciated.

Hello,

I have a "Speed Touch Alcatel" ethernet adsl modem already installed with Slackware 9.0. I have made a tarball of /etc/ppp. and untar it in Slackware 9.1 after installation of rp-pppoe package. That's works great !

I tracked down a set of drivers i had on floppy and managed to get them working -- basically doing exactly the same as i did before in 9.0 with the mgmt.o stuff and all that.

It's a pity all this isn't added during install, but i realise that this isn't a Slackware problem, just that the current kernel doesn't yet support this device fully in the sense of true PnP.
