Slack 9.0 Boot Error Messages
When my new Slack install is booting, I get the following error message many times, over and over (maybe 30 or 40 times):
"insmod: /lib/modules/2.4.20/kernel/drivers/char/i810-tco.o.gz" Each time this message rolls across the screen, it's followed with various short statements such as: insmod i810-tco failed no such device failed Would any of you happen to know what this means and/or how to fix it? Thanks a bunch in advance to any that can help me out here... :) BTW - I should add that the system boots and seems to run just fine. Still, it appears that something isn't working correctly if I am to believe the boot screen messages. |
It means that you don't have an i810 controller chipset. You don't have to worry about it.

Okay, bahamat - thanks for the speedy feedback. I appreciate your help.

tip from Excalibur
today i learnt how to remove that message and the
attempt for loading it from the user called Excalibur. add the module i810-tco to /etc/hotplug/blacklist |
Thanks, neenee - it worked perfectly! :)
