slack 12 - amarok ogg issues
 

Hello guys!

First, I'd like to say that I'm a Slackware fan boy, since 2002, slack 9......
Slackware 12 is running fine on my systems.
Pat has done a wonderful job again.

but

I think amarok has issues...

FIRST, it won't plays every ogg-vorbis audio.
While XMMS and mplayer plays the ogg audio in question, amarok and also xine, amarok's engine, does not.
So I did the xine-lib compiling and installing process, but didn't helped. Maybe I should recompile amarok against this new xine-lib now.

SECOND, amarok globay key, win + p,
makes my X session crash and restart,
every time I use it.

What do u think?

I like amaroK too, but for everyday music I still prefer lite-weight players. Try If you can settle with Audacious.
I personally, despite liking amaroK, consider him 'celulite' as koffice too.

BTW,
I have a PC (AMD ~2.5GHz) with Slackware 12.0 in production environment playing said .ogg files with said amaroK 'all_in_16' ("све у шеснаест" - as we in Serbia say...) all the time for days now.
Is it possible to have one OS that performs so different???
