Slack 11.0 is out!
Fellow Slackers, the long wait is over.
RC5 has been blessed (bug fixes and all), and 11.0 is out! It's alive! Post experiences here. Download via BitTorrent, and don't forget to seed so that everyone else can enjoy as quickly as possible! -- Shade |
I followed the slackware-current process for 10.2 to 11.0 all way long...
Many Many things have changed, and slackware 11.0 is a realy good and well tested distro. No need to download it since I always were up-to-date the last year, but I'm definitely going to buy it to support Pat!!! Fellow Slackers, Enjoy!!! |
Torrents don't seem to be up yet, but here is a fast mirror for those on the east coast:

Well they weren't up a few minutes ago ;) I've already got disc 1 and 2, need to grab the torrents and start seeding.

Seeding as we speak :]
|
Shade, that mirror that you posted is actually really fast... :)

Yeah... It was giving me 2.3MB/s pretty consistently, until I posted the link! Then it went down to about 1.5:(
But, I've already got both the disks, so I can't complain ;) |
Was jumping around my rrom when i saw the main slakware page. Her is another link for the iso's and dvd of Slackware 11.0 goodness. :)

Alright, I put a mirror up too. 2mbit uplink, not the greatest but may be useful:
http://www.mshade.org/public/slackware/ The link to the dvd.iso isn't working; need to recompile Apache because of the 2GB limit. -- Shade |
Actually when you want to contribute, running a bittorrent client and seeding your ISOs is probably going to be the most efficient way of distributing them. Any extra bit/sec is welcome!

Pat done and went mad and turned everything to "on" in the maketags.
