Slack 10 on Vmware 4.5.2 X Error

I loaded Slackware 10 onto Vmware 4.5.2. I loaded vmware-tools which is fine and it's starting at startup. I can get into X and launch kde but when I exit X linux is hung. All I see is text from the setup routine. I've attached my X config. What is wrong with my setup?

I changed the the vga line in lilo to:

vga=normal

and that solved the problem.
