Slack 10 dual b0ot problem
heil to all
me too i'm a noob to linux, after i managed to obtain a MCSA to win2k3 i decided to lear linux too.
but the config of my machine is as follow:
1st hdd as HDA with 2 partitions a-ntfs(as primary boot partitin) b- second partition( extended partition)
2nd hdd as HDB with one partition NTFS
i mean
hda1 - ntfs (primary boot partition)
hda5- linux install
hda6-swap
hda7- /user
hdb1- boot( where winxp is installed)
So the problem is, after i finished install slack, i do make some mistakes in config LILO and now my system boot directly to WINXP.
i've tryied to do what says in slack manual: get the first 512 bytes of the linux root partition " dd if=/dev/hda5 of=/tmp/bootlinux.lnx bs=1 count=512"; i've copied the bootlinux.lnx to primary partition; i've edited the boot.ini and add tle new line "c:\bootlinux.lnx "Sack 10""
i've restarted and when boot menu apear 1- winxp 2- slack10
i select 2 but instead of booting linux abunch of 9999999999999999999999 appear on screen and my system halt.
what should i do ?????
