Slack 10.2 with 2.6.13 kernel: No eth0 on Dell SC1420

I have a new Dell SC1420 server, and I'm trying to install it with Slackware 10.2, using the test 2.6.13 kernel included in the installation CDs. The server is a new Dell SC1420, with 2 250Gb SATA hard drives, set up in RAID-1, along with 1Gb of RAM.

Installation goes well, but the kernel won't recognize the embedded Intel gigabit ethernet controller. I tried looking around this forum, but couldn't find anything relevant. Has anybody else installed this configuration?

Thanks!

Marcos

Hi, and a warm welcome to LQ and the Slackware-Forum!

Post the relevant output line of lspci, please, so we can
see which exact chipset we're looking at.

Cheers,
Tink

That just might be the one thing which isn't compiled into that kernel. Have you tried re-compiling?
