Slack 10.2 and dual Xeon problems..


hi there,

i've just ordered dedicated server and asked to installed slaskware
they do that but the problem is that i cant see second CPU and second module of RAM

any idea what to do?

They need to recompile the kernel with the options for SMP and HIGHMEM enabled.

i can do that too if they would installed "make"
can you help me with installing make 3.80?

that package should be on the slackware disc

If they install Slackware using the default package choices, make and the other developer tools in the D package should be installed. If not, you pop in the Slack CD and install them yourself.

Or you can also install them from an official slackware ftp.

thanks guys!

finaly get "make"
but when i tried to make menuconfug this appear:

any help?
is there way to isnatll missing modules?

You are going to need to install all the packages in the D section (Development). It will include all the tools you need to compile.

From that error you need gcc, ncurses, and I'm sure many others. They are in D (ncurses is in l).
