In the 2.2 version was active by default the log generating in skype. This create a very large log when you do a videocall (filesystem full in few days). These logs are very UNuseful, so I remove it.
But won't that remove all the chatlogs too? Or can this be adjusted to just delete the video? I want to keep the text portions of the chatlogs for my history if I upgrade to the new package with the static libs.

A Log file is a file that contains all information about a single session of Skype. It helps us greatly in debugging problems in Skype and enables us to fix problems that you may encounter inside Skype.
But if you want you may remove the "rm" line from /usr/bin/skype.

Linux
Close Skype
Create directory “Logs” under your Skype data directory (~/.Skype/)
Restart Skype
Log file (skype_yyyy-mm-dd-hhmmss) will be created in ~/.Skype/Logs
To turn off logging again, delete the “Logs” directory
The history is saved on remote server.
