I am running the latest version of Slackware (11.0 on a new computer.
Seems good and for me, it is an upgrade from 10.2 that I am still using on other computers in the house.
Now, I am getting a 'sigsegv' with 11.0 but only on this new computer. It concerns only one of my applications but this same application (tnos) works fine on an older computer which is running Slackware 10.2.
I am wondering if it might be a fault with the computer (celeron cpu 3.2, 1 gig of ram and an 80 gig sata harddrive). Also I am wondering if perhaps there might be a conflict with the LIBS in this new release??
Here is the ONLY error(s) I get with this application which takes 3 tries to come up and stay running and than it will only run for 9.05 minutes. Exactly. Just nine minutes and 5 seconds (every time) and than it crashes/recycles and comes back up after THREE retries and repeats this whole episode.
The only errors I get are:
'Truncated a long convers topic name'
'A 'crash protect' - preventable restart occurred from a SIGSEGV signal'
That is it! Nothing more than that in any of my logs. I know it is not much to go on but wondering if I might get a tip or two to try and get by this annoying problem.
Its so strange that the application (tnos) will only run for just nine minutes and 5 seconds, and not a second more or less - and that it takes three tries to come up and stay running for this 9.05 mins.
might be the celeron
anything useful from an strace?
