Cool Shell command line won't display

Mentioned this in the kernel upgrade sticky, figured I'd give it it's own thread.

I don't know how else to put it. I boot from lilo after upgrading my kernel. I can log in fine, and startx perfectly. One problem. It's all blind until I load up the GUI. If anyone has an idea what controls the display settings outside of x I'd appreciate it.

I can't believe it's a driver issue. I imported my old config, and I don't know what I'd have to do with the drivers to get the shell command line to not display but have the GUI work. It's not much of an issue because I'm happy starting into runlevel 4. Though I figured I'd just give you guys a weird bug, I'm totally stumped.

It's a pretty common error most users upgrading to 2.6 do. Read here to know which settings you should activate: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...=127095&page=2 and http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...328#post668328
You could do that, or disable framebuffer by setting vga=normal in lilo.conf and re-running lilo.
