Several Gnome Packages wont install during setup, stall's during boot
 

:D hey, im a linux newbie basicaly, ive used RedHat 9 and Fredora Core (before an unfortunte hard drive failure). Right now im attempting to install slackware. but for some reason (which i belive is a corrupt iso :( ) the installer cant install several of the Gnome files (no big deal right now, i just need the comp running and on the network). but it also stalls during boot. Being new to slackware i know this is probaly human error, any suggestions on what when wrong, or what i did wrong?

Compare the iso you burned to the md5 sums on the Slackware website to verify that your CD is ok -- it does sound like a corrupt ISO.

Also, try burning it at 1X (assuming that it is not corrupt)
and see if it helps.

i checked the iso agenst the md5, everything turned out fine there. i reburnt the iso. but im still getting the same problem during the install, however this time i noticed an error during the finalization of the cd. perhaps thats the problem? :confused:

Yes, likely.. all I can reccomend is that you try from another machine..
