Try loading the via82cxxx_audio driver like so (as root):

modprobe via82cxxx_audio

and let us know how it went.

Hmm is right, and Google isn't helping me out either. That can sometimes mean that nobody is having any trouble with it at all.

I searched around, and based on various tidbits of information I could find:

- People seem to have it working with ALSA. Maybe try it with ALSA
- There are a few updates to the via82cxxx_audio driver since your 2.4.20 kernel. Maybe try upgrading to the latest kernel.
- This guy seems to have gotten it to work; too bad he doesn't say how. I suppose you could e-mail him: http://www.opensound.com/cgi-bin/oss...splay=threaded
- There are different drivers for your compiling pleasure here: http://www.viaarena.com/?PageID=294

Maybe one of those will help.

from a command window: become root and type ' alsaconf '.

It may autofind it and config it for you

Let us know.

Peace,
Whitehat
