Set Nickname error

I get this on bootup:
Code:

Error for wireless request "Set Nickname" (8B1C) :
SET failed on device eth1 ; Operation not supported.

The thing is i have my wpa_supplicant all good, and my internet works, it just bugs me on boot when i see it saying it.

I've had that as well, doesn't seem to hurt so just ignore it and don't worry.

I once tried to find what caused that but was to lazy to complete the investigation.

The same here. I'm not sure if the 'nickname setting' is not supported by the wifi card (I use Ralink 2860 on Asus EEE PC 901) or by the kernel driver (as though with the old driver rt2860sta I didn't have this issue, but I don't remember).

But it appears after calling iwconfig wlan1 nick 'nickname' (/etc/rc.d/rc.wireless -> $IWCOMMAND nick $NICKNAME). So with a few # in rc.wireless it would be harmless (???) to avoid this ugliness :)
