Segmentation Fault

When I try to install Slackware on my system, it says while formatting the HDA that there is a segmentation fault and it automatically restarts. What is this about? I haven't been able to use Linux neither Windows because of the same error but the only difference is that in Windows, it says Page_Fault or something like that. I did a complete restore to my PC but nothing happened. I also want to know how to desinstall Lilo from the MBR because I no longer have Linux (I will install it after I fix this problem.)

boot from it to Rescue mode by pressing R(or F5,i think) button.from there, try 'fixmbr <device_name>'.
