segfault's in Slackware 14.1?

I've seen this in my logs lately.

Jan 7 15:16:40 central [1070050.517424] conftest[6149]: segfault at 1 ip 0000000000404d15 sp 00007fff3eaf85e0 error 4 in conftest[400000+a3000]

Jan 7 15:16:46 central [1070056.214100] conftest[9099]: segfault at 0 ip 0000000000400730 sp 00007fff40e5d8a0 error 4 in conftest[400000+1000]

Jan 7 15:16:46 central [1070056.498168] conftest[9125]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f4dc576eff6 sp 00007fff619099a8 error 4 in[7f4dc5639000+1bf000]

Anyone know how to track down what might be causing this?

Slackware 14.1
Linux central 3.10.18 #13 SMP Sat Dec 14 15:53:39 EST 2013 x86_64
Its a VMware VM under ESX4 but seems to run fine otherwise, even after the segfaults.

Usually get those from the Autoconf tools when a test dumps core.
What are you compiling?
