SeaMonkey upgrade removes symlinks causing program crashes

The Seamonkey patch released on the 14th has caused me some perplexing problems, such as the clock-applet (I use DLGonme) crashing and another member has reported a problem with gxine here : http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=555026

As reported in the ChangeLog, upgrading seamonkey removed a bunch of links to libraries. The solution is also in the changelog, namely to (re)install mozilla-nss.

However, I usually upgrade through slackpkg, and so did not know about or install mozilla-nss. Now I do. And I'll start reading the ChangeLogs more diligently.

I was looking for answers as to why gxine had stopped working - and saw that you had written a knew thread on the subject. As newbies a lot of us took the easy update option, and used slackpkg not realizing at the time that certain files would be removed - thus disabling gxine.
I took your hint and installed mozilla-nss. I was wondering if I should do some changes after installation? I have tried gxine since the install of mozilla-nss but no joy. Please make your reply easy for some one thats just had a mental break down - ha,ha.
What I mean to say is - I am a newbie that is trying hard to understand the command structure - but gets a bit lost now and then if you know what I mean.

Appreciate any advice you can give on the matter.

Just tried running gxine from a console and had the following error come up:

root@Nollan:~# gxine
gxine: error while loading shared libraries: libmozjs.so: cannot open s hared object file: No such file or directory
Just wondered if that would help in the solution of my problem.
