seamonkey-solibs on Slackware-12.2
I’m running Slackware-12.2 and try to keep my box up to date with slackpkg.
The last few security update from seamonkey shows two files that need to be updated: seamonkey-2.0.7-i486-1_slack12.2.tgz seamonkey-solibs-2.0.7-i486-1_slack12.2.tgz If I look what is installed, only one package: # ls -la /var/log/packages/seamonkey* -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 68356 2010-09-28 22:33 /var/log/packages/seamonkey-2.0.8-i486-1_slack12.2 I looked back in all the slackware-security mails I have received, and seamonkey-solibs seems to be added with seamonkey-2.0.4, for which the security mail was send on April-5. I don’t see a recommendation to install seamonkey-solibs, and slackpkg will not update this packed, because it is not installed. I also had a look at the following page to find some clues: http://www.seamonkey-project.org/rel...eamonkey2.0.4/ Should I install this packed manually? |
It doesnt really matter if you do as the files included in seamonkey-solibs are part of the seamonkey package as well.

Sahko,
Thanks a lot. Indeed I had a look and all libs in Seamonkey-solibs are also in Seamonkey. A bit strange. |
Its not that strange considering thats the case in all -solibs (and other suffix) packages in Slackware.
