Screen blanks out after I log out

Hi everyone!

I have a problem. Whenever I log out of any wm, the screen blanks out. I think the problem is the video card. I think this is it:

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corp. 82845G/GL [Brookdale-G] Chipset I ntegrated Graphics Device (rev 03)

but I'm not sure. I've tried several different monitors, but they don't work. I can't change with ctrl+alt+1 or anything. Has anyone else had this problem and do they have a fix for it?

it has nothing to do with the monitor, it's with the video card/xfree config file. I have almost the same problem with my nvidia card and I'm working on a solution, so I will post it when I get it.
