Screen blanking in Slack 12.0

I have set screen blanking to 0 in rc.M like I have in the
past to prevent my screen from going dark every 15 minutes.

Code:

# Screen blanks after 15 minutes idle time, and powers down in one hour
# if the kernel supports APM or ACPI power management:
/bin/setterm -blank 0 -powersave powerdown -powerdown 60

However, this is not working in Slack 12.0; the screen continues
to blank after about 15 minutes. What gives here? I probably
have to set something else but I'm at a loss as to what that may
be.

Using ACPI.

So is it the console that's still going blank or when you're in X? If it's X, that's an X configuration within whatever desktop you're using.

What happens after you login and then use setterm to set to 0?
