scilab 5.x on slack 13_64 bit

Hello..

Has anyone here ever installed the latest version of scilab on slackware 13 64bits?

I just can't install/run it.

scilab-5.2.0

root@slack:/opt/scilab-5.2.0/bin# ./scilab
./scilab: line 343: /opt/scilab-5.2.0/bin/scilab-bin: No such file or directory

scilab-4.1.2

marcio@slack:~$ /usr/bin/scilab: line 58: /usr/lib/scilab-4.1.2/bin/scilex: No such file or directory

I tried older versions, same problem. I used to run scilab 4.x on slackware 11_32bit, it ran great.

Thanks

Ooops... I think I downloaded scilab 32bit and my slack is 64.

Oh... give me a break, it's 03:53 am and I'm still working.

What? Have you not ever made a mistake like this?

How do I go multilib?

Anyway, I have just downloaded scilab 5.2.0 64 bit and it worked out.

I must say compiling scilab over slack is not an easy task at all. I stopped trying 8 months ago.

If you need it urgently, go for binary versions.

Hi Marciobarbalho

It can be done... I built Scilab 5.1.2 in Slackware from Source...

The SlackBuild may have to be hacked in some minor parts... but it will build allright...

Furthermore... Building it from source will allow you to use the Intel Fortran Compiler, instead of the default gfortran...

Should you run really heavy stuff on Scilab, Intel compiled version would be much faster...
