I have a multifucntional printer Epson stylus tx110, the scanner is reconozigned, but I try to scan con xsane or iscan, appear a message that says "Error during device I/O error" and when try again appears other message that says "Scanner Failed to start, Error device I/O", seems my scanner is lost.
What can I do ?
My operating system is Slackware13.0
My sane version is sane-10.19
I experienced the same problem with my Epson SX115 en solved it by installing the appropriate scannerdrivers from here. But maybe you allready did that?
Happens that my scanner is detect, but when i try to scan with xsane or iscan , the process start, but after a little time the scanner stops, and then appears a message says 'Error during read, device I/o error' and try again appears other message that says 'Scanner star Fialed'.
A Device I/O Error is an error that occurs as a result of using a peripheral device such as a printer. I/O means an input or output error that is caused by a driver that is outdated or not yet enabled. Iscan or xsane is most probably not able to connect to the appropriate drivers, that you already have installed. Did you use the slackbuilds for the iscan-drivers from Slackbuild.org?
Occurs , after to read your comment, i haven search in slackbuilds.org, but I haven't found the driver in this site for my distribution release.
The driver that i have installed is downloaded from the sources, following the instruction what's appears in tne file installing
My scanner needs a firmware ?
But if this is correct, I still haven't found !
What can i do ?
No, your scanner needs 2 Avasys packages, iscan and iscan-data.

If you compiled them from source, then you must manually configure your system.
1) Add your user(s) to the scanner group.
2) Create udev rules.
3) Create HAL fdi.
4) Add the epkowa backend to /etc/sane.d/dll.conf.
5) Add The GIMP 'plugin' [optional].
6) Add SANE port numbers to /etc/services.
Or you could try my slackbuild. See the slackbuild.README file for instructions.
Hi! I'm currently experiencing a problem with my Stylus TX110.. It prints fine but whenever I photocopy and scan a picture or document, there is blue all over. I tried cleaning the glass but still it's not fixed..
