sbopkg : trying to set a different mirror for sourceforge.net

The default sourceforge mirror selected by wget or sbopkg is too slow for me. How do i set a different mirror permanently? Thanks.

So far as I know the download location is stored in the .info file which is stored in the Slackbuild tar file. I don't think using sbokg you can override this but I may be wrong. If not then just download the package from your preferred location and build it yourself or download the Slackbuild, amend this accordingly, (if the tar file has changed names), and download the differently named tar file. Then run the amended, (if it is amended), slackbuild script.

In other ( and hopefully simpler) words - I think the sbopkg way of running a slackbuild is dependant on the stored .info file download information. If yoiu want to do otherwise, download from the preferred location and if the source code name has changed, amend the slackbuild otherwise just run it.

This was the way of running a slackbuild before the marvellous sbopkg came about.

Yes, you can override this in sbopkg. There is an option in the menu for the particular app where you can manually edit/customize the SlackBuild or .info file, and it will be saved as a separate 'local' copy. Just edit the .info and put in your download URL. When you build the app with sbopkg, it will prompt you if you want to use the original .info or the locally-edited one. Just choose the locally-edited one and you'll be good to go.

Aha - thanks Chess and apologies for missing that sbopkg functionality. That's useful to know - thanks again and please keep up the good work, it's appreciated.
