SATA HDD not detected

Hey,
I am a noob to linux. I have 2 hdds 1 a PATA and the second on SATA. I installed Slackware on Pata and WinXP on SATA. Both are the only OS's on the HDD and if I want to boot to Linux I just change the BOOT priority accordingly. But Slackware doesn't seem to detect my SATA HD. Is there any package I need to install? I had a problem during the full install of slackware many recommended but not required packages weren't installed.

Oh and some other problems which are too small to start a new thread for:
1> When I middle click in the linux firefox instead of opening that circular thingie by which I can scroll, it goes to the previous page. How do I fix this? I have 1.5.0.7
2> All the NTFS drives I mount (from the PATA HDD) can be mounted as read only as it says the drive is Win2k +. How do I change this?
Thanks,
duryodhan

post your linux /etc/fstab file so we can see what is being mounted (that you can see ) this also will allow us to tell you why you can not open drive as rw (read write) rather than ro (read only) is your minor concerns (2)

2) bootloaders are modern, rather than use each drives mbr and change bios you can use grub on pata drive and change the menu file to chainload to the sata drive as per my tutorial.

3) does your mouse behaviour occur in other applications as well as fox?....if so you need to config your windowmanager

Hey,
I solved the prob. I was earlier not using fstab but actually doint mount -t ntfs /dev/..... .... for each and every partition. I have edited fstab and now mount using "mount -a". How do I make sure this runs during startup?

I still have a problem with the scroll wheel and middle click. I tried doing wat was said in the "this is how I do it" post but still can't get the damn thing to work!

fstab is automatically read on each boot so no worries there.

pls post it pls?

2) could you answer the question do you have a mouse problem with other programs/applications or just the browser?

and in case it is more than FOX, what is your distro and what is your windowmanager pls?
