samba, cant open location

I got my samba network working without doing anything, thereś only one problem, when I try to play videos and music directly from the samba server I get an error message, CANT OPEN LOCATION, I've tried xine, xmms, mplayer... all get the same error. But opening images with the eye of gnome" directly from the samba server works great.

Is it possible to open videos and music directly from the samba server ?

How exactly are you trying to open that files?
I'm able to listen music on my other comp using samba by mounting the shared folder to /mnt/smb.
