samba (can not find -lssl)


when i am trying to compiling "samba 3.0.20" i get an error
Code:
Linking bin/smbd
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i486-slackware-linux/3.3.4/../../../../i486-slackware-linux/bin/ld: cannot find -lssl
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [bin/smbd] Error 1
i think it ssl lib error but i dont know how to solve i googled many times but with no use and I searched the forums and found two threads in the forums about the same error .but also didnt find the solution

btw i installed openssl from source
#./config --shared
#make
#make test
#make install
#openssl version
OpenSSL 0.9.8 05 Jul 2005
i also made "ldconfig"
i also
cp libcrypto.so.0.9.8 /lib && cp libssl.so.0.9.8 /lib
and i am still having the same problem.i am running slackware 10.1 kernel 2.6.12.5

Install the openssl package, run ldconfig and then try it. If you're using Slackware 10.1, then the openssl package can be found at http://slackware.mirrors.tds.net/pub....7e-i486-3.tgz

Where is this file in your system : openssl/ssl.h

And also where is : libssl.so

ok its solved .i tried
root@slackwbas:/usr/local/ssl/lib# ls
engines/ libcrypto.so@ libssl.a libssl.so.0.9.8*
libcrypto.a libcrypto.so.0.9.8* libssl.so@ pkgconfig/

root@slackwbas:/usr/local/ssl/lib#cp lib* /lib
