S3 Trio 64V2/DX Xorg Problem

Hello,

I just wondered if you could give me an idea of how I can get my S3 Trio 64V2/DX setup in Slackware 10 with Xorg. I have tried running xorgconfig and selecting the card. I cannot change the desktop resolution from the current size 640 X 480 while the monitor can go higher.

Any help will be thankfully recieved.

Thanks

ReS

Try setting the correct values for you monitor's Horizontal Sync and Vertical Refresh.

I have set the values fot my monitor and it still only picks up 86Mhz at 640 x 480. I don't know what else to try.

Try posting your xorg.conf. Please remove the comments on it so it can be read easier (the comments are the lines that starts with a #). Oh and tell us your monitor name/model.

My xorg.conf can be seen here xorg.conf. My monitor is a Tiny CP-UK-500 Flat Screen.

Horizontal 60 - 75 Hz
Vertical 30 - 60 Khz

Thanks

Hi

Your driver is set to vga, if you feel confident, try resetting it to svga or vesa.

If you feel less confident try xorgsetup which will try to autodetect your settings.

Remember to backup your xorg.conf file first, and ensure that your default runlevel is set to 3 in /etc/inittab.

I used xorgconfig and thats what settings it inserted for my card, I was orginally running vesa and still had the problem . I will try that and see what happens as I wasn't running the S3 driver in xorg.

Thanks
