I'm using zipslack 8.1 and don't have X running due to lack of space. I've been trying to install dvisvga but with no luck. I can only find it in rpm format, but when I run rpm2tgz (or rpm2targz), I get the message:
gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file
What gives? I thought the original rpm might be corrupted, but I've downloaded it three times from several sources, and I get the same problem each time.
Distribution: Slackware 10, Fedora Core 3, Mac OS X

Ive heard of this before and it is probably from your browser downloading the package funny. You need to use an ftp program to download a new browser. Im guessing that you are using the version of mozilla that came with your distro?
You need to download a new browser with a ftp program. I think that that should work and your new browser would allow you to download the file properly (you could always use ftp to download the original file you were having problems with...)
