Rox and mailcap

I'm configuring a pc for someone who doesn't know much about computers. I want to install IceWM and Rox Filer so she has a nice looking file browser.
One problem: I find it very irritating that Rox does not uses the existing $HOME/.mailcap file. So I want to make a script that handles this functionality and associate this script with all file types in Rox. Is there an application that, given a mime-type, returns the program associated with that type in mailcap?
